Lifelong readers have more empathy with others, are less prejudiced, have higher mental flexibility and are even likely to live longer, healthier lives. But it’s got to be fiction.
It does not matter what type of fiction it is from Harry Potter to Charles Dickens — people who read fiction for
pleasure have better lives. On the other hand ,people who read only to access information aren’t as healthy or happy.
