"H.A.P.P.Y. Radio" was a 1979 hit by Edwin Starr. It was the follow up to "Contact"... and was written and produced by Starr himself.

This song actually charted better in the U.K. than it did in the States... where Smash Hits called it "a boisterous chuck of disco- mix." Okayyyy...

Edwin Starr was born in Nashville, but spent his youth growing up in Ohio before moving to Detroit.

"Oh How Happy", A 1966 hit for Shades of Blue, was written by Edwin Starr!
